You're in your yoga class having a perfectly lovely time and then your yoga teacher casually says that you're going to move to the wall for adho mukha vrksasana. Handstand.
You may well ask yourself why, as a grown man/woman, might it be necessary to stand on one's hands? We do, after all, have two perfectly good feet specifically designed for the purpose, and generally speaking our bodies are orientated with a head-up alignment.

Thankyou so much for those of you who joined me to enjoy a fabulous yoga practice last night, surrounded by the beautiful art work of Parastou Forouhar.
I feel so very grateful to be able to teach in this serene, creative gallery space.
The latest exhibition runs until 6th February. I recommend you dive in and take a look. The butterflies on the back wall are totally captivating. Get close up. Look at the detail. It's stunning, and slightly haunting.
The exhibition ends on the 6th, but my classes will continue! Please come and join us. Tuesdays 6.15pm.
I'm very excited to start shouting about the NEW CLASS I am starting next week on Eastcastle Street, near Oxford Circus, London. I have teamed up with a small independent gallery to provide yoga classes surrounded by the ever-changing selection of exciting artworks being showcased. It's beautiful. And such a great place to practice. One week butterflies, next week splashy paint splatterings. Glorious.
Tuesday evenings at 6.15pm.
Please get in touch to book your place, and I'll tell you exactly where it is. Booking is essential so I can keep an eye on numbers.
The location isn't exactly top secret, but I'll tell you when you get in touch. I like to keep an air of mystery about it, humour me.
